Jean-Charles “(JC)” Sambor is TT’s Head of Emerging Markets Debt. Before joining TT, JC worked at BNP Paribas Asset Management for almost eight years as Head of EM Fixed Income and was Lead Portfolio Manager of the EM Debt strategies. Prior to this, JC was CEO of IIF (Institute of International Finance) Asia Pacific Ltd and Regional Director. He also worked at TCW and Everest Capital. JC started his career as an Emerging Markets economist with Société Générale. He is an alumnus of UCLA and received an MA in International Financial Economics from UPMF. JC is also an alumnus of École Normale Supérieure and received an MA in Philosophy from Sorbonne University.

Philip Meier brings more than 18 years of investment experience to Gramercy. He is Deputy Chief Investment Officer responsible for Public Markets and Multi-Asset Strategies. Based out of the London office, Philip is also an integral part of expanding the firm’s coverage of CEEMEA and Asia and serves as a member of Gramercy’s Management Team, Global Investment Committee, Public Credit Investment Committee, Global Research Committee and Top-Down View Committee.

Prior to joining Gramercy, Philip spent nearly five years at Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM) where he was a senior member of the Emerging Markets Debt Portfolio Management Team. In addition to LGIM, Philip’s emerging markets credit experience includes time with AXA Investment Managers as Senior Portfolio Manager, Emerging Markets Fixed Income, in London. He began his emerging markets credit investing career with Deutsche Asset Management in Frankfurt.

Philip graduated from the European Business School in Germany and holds an MBA-equivalent (“Diplom-Kaufmann”) in Finance & Banking.
